Lewis Estates Lifestyle
For the golfer in the family, it is obvious what makes Lewis Estates real estate attractive. One of Edmonton's finest public golf courses is intertwined with the community, offering residents of the area unprecedented access to this fantastic 18-hole course. But, what about other recreational opportunities for the rest of the family?
To the North, South and West of the community, you can be at most stores within 7 minutes by car. The West Henday Promenade sits to the community's North and offers a range of stores from pubs and groceries to fast food outlets. South along the Guardian Road lies the Glastonbury strip mall, where you will find more grocery stores, gas stations and internally-renowned coffee stores. If you crave for more shopping and entertainment choices, drive along Webber Greens Dr for less than 10 minutes and experience the world-class West Edmonton Mall. As one of the largest malls in the world, West Ed has a tonne of things to do and features a water park, a theme park, an ice rink, a pirate ship and nearly every store you could possibly wish for.
Although there are no schools within the communities of Lewis Estates, great education can be found throughout the surrounding neighbourhoods. Access to both private and public schools for children aged from K-12 is never too far away, being easily reachable in under 10 minutes by car. In order to combat the growing communities around Lewis Estates, two new schools were built and opened in 2017. The Michael Phair School offers education for children in grades 7-9, while David Thomas King offers education to children in grades K-9.
Lewis Estates currently only has bus access from the area's Transit Center that offers Park and Ride services, while acting as a central hub for the neighbourhood's bus system. But in 2016, officials at the City of Edmonton announced that they have prioritised building the “Valley Line”, a new urban LRT line that will operate between Mill Woods and Lewis Farms.
